If Montano Explorer intervenes in the services of other independent suppliers (e.g. connection flights, rent-a-car services, transportation services, excursions, booking accommodations, etc.), Montano Explorer is only responsible for the mediation of these services, but not for the services themselves. In this case, the Terms & Conditions of that supplier are relevant. If Montano Explorer is the tour operator, the general Terms & Conditions stated herein take effect.

Responsibilities:

We ask all participants to be aware of the dangers of the Covid-19 virus. The virus is airborne and can be contracted by touch with another infected person or by objects. It is from the utmost importance to be as careful as possible during yours travels before and after the program as well as during the program. Getting infected and sick can be a serious and difficult situation to handle.
We ask every participant to be as honest as possible to let us know in advance and during the program if you have or have had any symptoms that can direct to the virus Covid-19.

It is the participant’s responsibility to book a program that is of their interest and suited to their physical abilities. We like to ask all participants to be kind and considered towards our team, other participants and to the nature we walk through. In our programs we work as a team and often ask for the participant’s cooperation including activities like: building up and down of their tent and helping with chores at camp like hauling water or preparing meals.

It is the participant’s responsibility to arrive on time to start the program. Montano Explorer is not responsible for any delay in transportations organized by third parties. However, we will try and help you to get to the guide’s location at the earliest possibility when this occurs. This transportation might add an additional fee to the program.

The participants are responsible for fulfilling passport, visa, customs, device, and health regulations. All disadvantages resulting from non-fulfillment of these regulations are the sole responsibility of the participant.

Montano explorer is not responsible for any loss or stolen prior, during or after the booked program. Neither can they be held liable for any accident that occurs before or after their booked program.

We take responsibility to organize a safe and healthy environment during the program. All measurements of social distancing and the using of masks are uphold in enclosed areas. When on the trails mask will only be used while passing by fellow hikers. All gear is cleaned and disinfected before and after the program. During the program participants will have personal gear designated to them only to avoid contact as much as possible. Participants will only share a tent with a travelling partner or family member. Refunds are not given under such circumstances. Any possible additional expenses for return transfers are the sole responsibility of the trip member.

Because of the fact that hospital facilities for serious problems are often far away and evacuation can be prolonged, difficult and expensive, it is that we assume no liability regarding provision of medical care at any time during the trip.

All passengers over 50 years old who participate in any of our hiking or trekking programs and/or programs that include any other physical activity are requested to send ahead a doctor's certificate that states that they are able to safely accomplish the program they are interested in valid only with the signature and stamp of a physician.

Please read our activity levels information for more details about how active each Montano explorer program might be.
